Motorcycle Tour - June 2011 - Cappadocia 1
As years passed, I had the chance to combine my two interests I love: Photography & Motorcycle. I bought my first motorbike from a colleague in July 2010. It was a Suzuki AN125 HK (scooter). I used it for 7 months and made over 8.000 km. Well, if I rethink over it, I wouldn't do the things I have done with it :) So I got my second bike shortly, because the first one too small and not efficient for long trips.
Yamaha 400 Majesty was very well for that time. As you can see below, my dear friend Ugur Celasun and I made a 8 days trip (18-25 June) to the center of Anatolia and north sea coast regions. Actually the trip did not start well. Ugur felt down from the bike, due to gravels on a turn on the road (we were just 3 hours away from home). He tumbled twice, jump up on his feet and looked at my eyes with joy.
"Didn't I fell down so good?" his first words were, with a big smile in his face.
I was still in a shock, since it was the first time that a biker fell down while riding with me. We checked his bike, there were a lot of scratches but worked fine. So we were on the road in 5 minutes. However, after 15 minutes a nasty cloud made as so wet that we had to stop at the next as station to change our clothes, in total!!
The below photo was taken all after these troubles. You can see the Tuz Gölü (Salt lake, Ankara) at the back.
Here you can see the beautiful Cappadocia, Nevsehir, Turkey. There are a lot to say about this magnificent and picturesque place, but I will not write about Cappadocia since you can find it on internet. Keep in mind that the center of this region is Göreme. So you most probably will stay here. :)
This is Arturo, we have a fantastic memory to share. Arturo stayed at my place in Istanbul for 3 days at the beginning of June 2011. He had a 2 month photography plan in Turkey, so I tried to help him with the main course that he can follow. As a coincidence, we met on the street of Capadocia just after we arrived there. We were shocked but happy. We spent the rest of the day together and went on our own ways the next day.
Here are shots from the center and surroundings at the same day. The chimney looking structures are houses from old times actually. There is really a great history behind this holy place.
This guy came out from nowhere!! He stand so cool on the horse, with his sunglasses. :)
One of the hard topic for me was "panoramic" photos. For the last few years, it became easier of course. You can see 2 panoramic photos that I combined afterwards from several vertical shots. I had to take vertical shots, not forgetting that they have to overlap during combination process. And the horizontal movement must be from the waist, otherwise you will have really funny solutions.
People are taking photos till the sun it "literally" gone!! It is easy to understand why, just be with them on sunset and you will understand as well ;)
