Sultanahmet Square - April 2009

The most touristic and well known place at Istanbul, Sultanahmet square. It contains Blue (Sultan Ahmet) Mosque, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Milion, Hippodrome, Topkapi Palace, traditional Turkish cuisines, sightseeing, museums, cafes and lots more. You can take thousands of photos of them and still there are moments you have to take. I share with you just 2 photos that I liked at that time very much.

You can see the Blue Mosque behind and local people resting on the square. Since I was still new to photography, specially to digital world, I tried some filters on these at that time. I want to share them with you, on purpose. Although I like the frame very much here, I think I ruined the photo with filter at all. However, I like them because it is one of the points of my photography life for searching new stuff. You always have to be open to new ideas. Sometimes the result bad, sometimes you get rewarded for it!!

In this second photo, you again see Blue Mosque, but from the opposite angel. This is how the backside looks, from my perspective. Signs to historical places, car park place sign, more quite and cozy with the old surroundings. Again, bad choice with the filter!
