Long Exposure - October 2012

I found a set of photos from the same night, taken with same technique: 25 October 2012 - Long Exposures. I always loved this type of photos, where you can see the clear details and sharp light effects. They must be taken with Canon 17-40 mm f/4, which I mentioned in several previous posts as well. The more you experience long exposure technique, the more you dive into it. Seeing the amazing results, that in real life your eyes can catch, is indescribable.

Eminonu, Istanbul is an old port at the historical part of the city. You have a wide angle of sea view, starting from Galata Tower until Asian side, including Bosphorus, bridge and Maiden's Tower. You can see Galata bridge, beginning of Golden Horn, Karakoy and Galata Tower at the top.

When you just turn your back, you see the New mosque and street sellers. Can you see the shadows of the peoples' feet? At long exposure, it is common to see such things, since people are crossing your frame during the time. You can have silhouette if someone stops for a short while and moves again. Like a ghost!! :)

I climbed the stairs on my left. A different view to Bosphorus and the colorful street sellers. Long exposures can also add a moving effect as seen on the rugs below.

After walking a little bit more, at the middle of the bridge an amazing view is waiting for you. The Bosphorus bridge is just across you. The right side is Asia continent, the left Europe. The first and only city located at 2 continents: Istanbul!! The local people enjoy this view with fishing. :)

Galata Tower always gets attention from everyone. It is simply beautiful.
